On 30 September in Bratislava took place meeting of partners of the project ‘30 Years After the Fall of the Iron Curtain’, coordinated by the Slovak organization Post Bellum SK.
The Krzyżowa Foundation was represented by Dr. Tomasz Skonieczny and Dominik Całka, from the European Academy.
The aim of the project is to look at the experience of 1989, the year in which the Iron Curtain collapsed, in selected countries of Central Europe.
Within the framework of the project, the Krzyżowa Foundation cooperates with Post Bellum SK (Slovakia) and Post Bellum CZ (Czech Republic).
We invite you to participate in a workshop on dialogue. The workshop is an ideological continuation of the "Religion-Culture-Education" program, inspired by Edward Skubisz, a Dutch theologian, for many years related with the Peace House Foundation (Fundacja Dom Pokoju) and currently operating within the DIALOGUE INSTITUTE (INSTYTUT DIALOGU).
In recent years, in the Edith Stein House has been read Edith Stein's (1891-1942) and Dutch theologian Henri Nouwen's (1932-1996) texts on empathy and compassion. Today, the Institute of Dialogue invites to discuss and reflect on the questions: Does empathy and compassion help in conducting dialogue? Are these terms not abused nowadays?
The workshop will be continued as part of the "Laboratory of Dialogue" meetings and the "School of Dialogue" programme, conducted by the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe. In Wrocław and Krzyżowa, the concepts of theologians such as Edith Stein, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Benno Jacob, and Katharina Staritz will be discussed.

Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, the Magyar Bibliodráma Egyesület (Hungarian Society for Bibliodrama), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Bibliodrama (The German Society for Bibliodrama) and Polskie Towarzystwo Bibliodramy (The Polish Society for Bibliodrama) were organizers of an ecumenical, international bibliodramatic workshop in Krzyżowa from 4 to 8 August this year.
This year's 30th anniversary of the Reconciliation Mass in Krzyżowa, the beginnings of the Foundation Krzyżowa and the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War were for us above all an opportunity to reflect together more intensively on the theme of reconciliation. The issue was dealt with both in the theoretical part in the form of lectures and in the practical part, i.e. the bibliodramatic workshops.
At the beginning of June (1-3.06.) an international seminar "30 years after the Reconciliation Mass. Polish-German relations on the level of self-government. Achievements and perspectives", in which participated representatives of local authorities from Poland and Germany.
Its aim was to exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation between poviats and municipalities from both countries, and a joint discussion on the prospects for further development of Polish-German relations at the local government level.
The seminar was organized by the Wołowski and Harburg districts. The Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe was the partner of the event.
