Centers providing education on sustainable development and adaptation to climate change should, in order to be credible, lead by example and implement pro-environmental solutions. This cannot be done without conscious, educated and motivated teams – writes Ania Dańkowska in an article for the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
Ecological education is an important element of the Krzyżowa Foundation's activity. From April to November this year, we made additional efforts to ensure that our activities are fully compliant with the principles of sustainable development. We wanted to involve the whole team in the process of shaping the changes.
On December 6, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Wrocław, a discussion "1989-2019. 30 years after the fall of the Iron Curtain" took place with the participation of witnesses of history: Elżbieta Sienkiewicz-Romańska, Władysław Frasyniuk, Rafał Bubnicki. The debate was moderated by Katarzyna Kaczorowska. The event was addressed to high school students.
- If we find a moment and look at the profiles of our family and friends in social media, we will see that we live well. Probably the best in our history. But that's why we started to forget - or to put it simply: we don't know our recent past. The speakers encouraged colleagues to actively work for fair and good food. The group cooked together with the leftovers at the zero-food kitchen workshop in Krzyżowa and visited the organic farm Ekolomia in Stoszów.
On November 17-21, representatives of Jordan, Israel, Palestine, France, Germany and Poland participated in a member's network meeting of the Anna Lindh Foundation in Berlin. The "Krzyżowa" Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe was represented by Anna Dankowska, the coordinator of the European Academy's projects.
The meeting "Strengthening cross-border methods of cooperation in civil society" enabled a lively discussion, exchange of experiences and learning about various initiatives in the field of international cooperation and support for civil society, including IMPACT.
