We have just finished another meeting of young people from the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Public Primary School in Jedlnia Letnisko with the students of Marion-Dönhoff-Gymnasium from Mölln. Days spent in Krzyżowa were a great opportunity to learn about the history of this unique place, get to know peers from another country better and discuss issues related to the ethics of digital media and courage on the Internet.

On 25 April 2019 a conference opening this year's edition of the project "Tradition unites generations" took place in Krzyżowa. It was informative, funny, and sometimes also moving.
This first meeting with the participants was to a large extent informative and organizational, but also created an opportunity to get to know the Organizers and Seniors participating in the project.
The conference also included a lecture by Dr. Tomasz Skonieczny (European Academy of the "Krzyżowa" Foundation), thanks to which the participants deepened their knowledge about the history of Krzyżowa. There was also a meeting with a representative of the Police and a lawyer - it provided the Seniors with important information on how to effectively take care of their safety.
For the needs of the project, a subpage has been launched, on which up-to-date information and announcements concerning the implemented and planned activities will be posted on a regular basis.
The first workshop of the project "Laboratory of Dialogue and Reconciliation" took place in Krzyżowa on 12-14 April 2019.
This is a Polish-German project in the field of civic education, that aims to develop practical guidelines and recommendations to support constructive dialogue based on mutual respect - as an attempt to face the growing polarization in the society.
Participants of the project are experienced trainers, educators and teachers from Poland, Germany, Holland and Ukraine.
The outcome of the project will be a publication containing methodological guidelines for didactic work conducted within the framework of formal education (as lesson scenarios), non-formal education (as scenarios for classes and workshops) and a list of good practices and guidelines for initiating actions at the local community level which aim to support the culture of dialogue, reconciliation and civic involvement.
On 5-7 April we hosted a school exchange with pupils from Legnica (II High School in Legnica) and Wuppertal (Wilhelm-Dorpfeld-Gymnasium). During the three days spent in Krzyżowa, the young people had the opportunity to get to know each other better, and to prepare themselves morally and intellectually for visiting the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
Together with the young people, we discussed the difficult emotions that can arise when visiting places with terrifying history, such as Auschwitz, and shared our doubts about whether it is necessary to visit similar places in order to learn history. An important topic during this meeting were issues related to human rights and their violation - not only during the Second World War, but also now, in our countries, cities, and communities.
