IX Festival of Protestant Culture #Love #Joy #Peace
The 9th edition of the Festival of Protestant Culture will take place in Wrocław from 19 to 25 May. This time the main theme of the event will be JOY. „Krzyżowa" Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe is a partner of the festival and for another year in a row organizes one of the events of the festival.
On May 22nd, Dr. Tomasz Skonieczny from the European Academy, will conduct a workshop „The joy of reconciliation. The value of dialogue. Conclusions from the process of Polish-German reconciliation". The classes will be attended by the students of the Secondary School No. IX in Wrocław.
From 13 to 17 May young people from schools in Wenningsen, Częstochowa and Grodziszcze visited us in Kreisau. The 60 pupils took part in integration, language and art workshops. Participants of the event also got acquainted with the history of Kreisaus as well as with the development of German-Polish relations.
The time spent together also offered the young people from Germany and Poland the opportunity to get to know the country of their new friends, their culture and customs better. The group spent most of their time in Kreisau, but students also went on a trip to Wroclaw.
From 11th to 17th of May in Krzyżowa there is another Exchange of Expertise project. Participants were divided into four thematic groups, which deal with: work in wood, work in the garden, culinary workshops and photojournalism workshops. The carpentry group will deal with, among other things, making beehives at the House on the Hill, which will refer to those that stood there at the beginning of the 20th century. Freya von Moltke kept in beehives letters from her husband, Helmuth James, so that they would not fall into the wrong hands.
Exchange of Expertise is an international workshop with the participation of young people from Poland and Germany. Their aim is intercultural integration. What distinguishes him from other projects is the fact that integration, dialogue and mutual acquaintance are realized in practical classes, during which professional skills of the participants are used.

is a project for high-school students from Poland, Croatia and Germany on the role of women in the past and present.
During the project young people throw light on the topic of the secondariness of women’s role in post-war historiography. The example of women in resistance movements against National-Socialism during the Second World War lends a good starting point for such investigations. The participants get familiar with the biographies, letters and memories of the female members of resistance groups and this way will learn more about the inhuman Nazi regime. Interviews with women who were part of resistance during the Second World War or female relatives as well as with women who are active in resistance nowadays help deepen the knowledge about the lives of these women. Furthermore, the students critically examine the role of women in their national historiographies, as well as how and in which situations women experience discrimination nowadays. The young participants will get familiar with filming and interviewing during a film and interview training. They produce their own short movies that will help them to deepen the newly gained knowledge and present it to a broad audience.
