On 2-7 September 2019 school youth from Polish Kotlin and German Angermünde met in International Youth Meeting Centre in Krzyżowa. The youth was getting to know each other and discovered their cultures during a variety of artistic, intercultural and outdoor activities. Participation in Rally and discovering the exhibition Courage and Reconciliation let them learn about the history of Krzyżowa, talk about the Polish-German realations as well as reflect on their influence on the future of Europe.
The time spent together certainly enabled them to overcome the prejudice as well as start new friendships. The programme of the exchange included a day trip to Wrocław. The project was cofinanced by PNWM.

On 1st September, on the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, a special concert took place in Krzyżowa. The finale of the Krzyżowa-Music Chamber Music Festival was at the same time a tribute to the victims of World War II. On this special day, musicians from several countries proved that art is a universal language, and the emotions that accompany it unite people regardless of nationality.
The guests were welcomed by Dr. Robert Żurek - Managing Director of the Krzyżowa Foundation, and the ceremony began with welcoming speeches delivered by Łukasz Lutostański - Director of the Department of Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Irmgard Fellner - Director for Cultural Relations Policy, German Federal Foreign Office, Beata Moskal-Słaniewska - President of Świdnica and Dr. Matthias von Hülsen - General Director of Krzyżowa-Music.
On 23 August, on the anniversary of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, the European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Totalitarian Regimes is observed. We recall today tragic fate of all victims of Nazism and Stalinism.
In recent days all visitors of Krzyżowa Foundation could get flyers about the campagne #RememberAugust23 and as the attachment the black ribbon pin, which remind us all of the fallen. The flyers were prepared by European Network Remembrance and Solidarity.
