The "Education in Memorial Sites" project has been implemented in Wrocław since 2013. Its basic assumption is to shape attitudes of tolerance and respect for other nations, beliefs, cultures, religions, and at the same time to awaken pride in one's own history and cultural heritage.
Young people from primary and secondary schools take part in trips to Memorial Sites, which are preceded by comprehensive preparations. During classes and workshops at the school, students learn about the history of the places they will visit.
Since the beginning of the project, 35,000 students from Wrocław schools at various levels of education took part in the project.
This year's fourth conference, "Education in Memorial Sites", is attended by educational project specialists from the International Youth Meeting Center - Karolina Moroz and Liubov Shynder.
The conference participants also have an opportunity to read the information materials concerning the activities of the IYMC in Krzyżowa.
The organizer of the conference and the "Education in Memorial Sites" project is the Wrocław Teacher Development Centre. The project is implemented with the support of the City of Wrocław and the Mayor of Wrocław.
