On 24-26 September, an advanced training "Global education - ecological, climatic, green" took place in Krzyżowa.
The weather was beautiful. Accompanied by the September sun, the participants managed to explore the nature around Krzyżowa and get to know it through their senses. The trainees got to know many methods of working with children and young people. They also had the opportunity to broaden their knowledge about climate change, ecological footprint, nature deficit syndrome and to discuss the climate crisis, adaptation to it and how to discuss these topics with young people. They have explored issues related to the food system, meat consumption and food wastage. They got to know pro-ecological solutions and struggles of the Krzyżowa Foundation and shared their experiences in the field of environmental education and its implementation.
In September, traditionally, we welcome new volunteers to Krzyżowa. Two new fantastic friends - Emma and Anna-Sofia - have been with us for several days.
Where they came from, why they came to Krzyżowa and what are their first impressions - you can read about this in short self-presentations.
We are very happy that Emma and Anna-Sofia are already with us and we wish them that the time they will spend in Krzyżowa will be creative, interesting and full of good emotions!
Students from the Technical School in Kłodzko have just started a series of specialist classes shaping their competences and digital skills. The workshops are held in Krzyżowa. During the workshops, participants will learn about the tools developed in the project "Digital Pathways for Youth across".
The Krzyżowa Foundation as one of the project partners has been recommended by the European Commission of the Council for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport to implement tools in the education process.
Today we celebrate Empty Classroom Day! It is an international initiative that aims to spread outdoor education among teachers of different subjects at different educational stages.
Going out with education in the field has many advantages: fresh air (so important especially now, in times of pandemic), activation of the senses, calming of runaway thoughts, better concentration, as well as fun, movement and, above all, own experience - thanks to which we learn and remember more easily. In this way, we build a bond with nature, so that we can later become more involved with it.
