Participants of the "Educational ecological garden in the permaculture approach" workshops spent Saturday in a very pleasant and useful way, almost all ... on the meadow. Land observation is the thing from which permaculture design begins.
We examined the soil and humidity of the terrain, and observed fauna and flora. We explored plants in the area between the moat and the Piława River, we looked at insects closely. With our imagination we have already seen a beautiful place to rest under old oaks, near the pond as part of the planned garden. We learned to determine the level using the tool used by ancient peoples - A-frame. We estimated the height of the trees and reconstructed the wander of the sun and shade around the area, considering the consequences for the plants planned at a given location. It was an exciting day and now we are waiting for the third part of the workshop on 18 June.

The TikTok app has reached one billion active users faster than any other social network ever. The app is, also thanks to Corona, an indispensable part of the smartphone for many young people. But how exactly does the app work and what makes it so special compared to Instagram and Snapchat? What dangers does it offer, but also what opportunities? Is there a balance between lip-sync and political participation that we can find and focus on in terms of young people's media literacy and to create a responsible use of the app in the future?
These are the questions we will address in our 70-minute webinar. The event will be held in Polish and English and will be translated.
What does the work at the Krzyżowa Foundation look like? Is it easy to gather a project team? How to coordinate the work of foreign partners? These are just some of the issues raised during the lecture for students of Social Project Management at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Wrocław.
The lecture in the form of an e-meeting was given on 1 June by dr Tomasz Skonieczny, deputy head of the European Academy, who presented the history of the foundation, organization and backstage of the Foundation's work.
An annual meeting of Krzyżowa's Friends should take place in Krzyżowa during the weekend of Pentecost (30-31.06.2020). Unfortunately, like many other meetings and projects, this also had to be canceled.
However, we encourage you to listen to the report about the meeting on Pentecost. The broadcast (approx. 25 minutes) was broadcast on Deutschlandfunk Kultur on 1 June at 7:05 am. The reportage was attended by, among others Dominik Kretschmann - head of the Memorial Site of the Krzyżowa Foundation.
