"A good start in craft" is another educational project implemented by the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe from the ROP WD 2014-2020 funds, under Measure 10.4, addressed to students and teachers of secondary schools.
The leader of the project is the Lower Silesian Chamber of Crafts in Wrocław, and the partner together with the Krzyżowa Foundation is the Lower Silesian Voivodeship - the body running the following schools: the Lower Silesian School Complex in Bożków, the Lower Silesian School Complex in Jawor, the Maria Grzegorzewska's Lower Silesian Special Educational Center No. 13 for Blind and Visually Impaired Students and with other disabilities in Wrocław, the Maria Grzegorzewska's Lower Silesian Special Educational Center No. 12 for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students and with other disabilities in Wrocław.

The 2nd edition of the Remembrance and Future Forum organised by Centrum Historii Zajezdnia will take place this year from 29-31 July.
We are pleased to inform, that the guest of the panel "Western territories - new beginnings", which will take place on the second day of the Forum, will be Dr. Robert Żurek, managing director of "Krzyżowa" Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe.
Forum participants will discuss the most important challenges and dilemmas of modern times, issues which are important from the point of view of Wrocław, Poland as well as entire Europe.

In the past, first year of the coronavirus pandemic, we were extremely lucky. We were able to organize our concerts and celebrate them with the guests almost as if the surrounding danger did not exist, and this was possible thanks to easy access to coronavirus detection tests, which could be performed throughout Europe. This extremely generous strategy, supplemented with sophisticated logistics, was a gift from our sponsor Centogene. This ensured the continuity of the Krzyżowa-Music festival and the health of all people involved, and thus saved our budget, which consists mostly of donations, and only thanks to generous donors we can continue our music and program work.
Although, unfortunately, our hopes for this year's edition of the festival without pandemics and restrictions will not come true, the loyalty of our sponsors allows us to start our seventh season with full self-confidence and great plans. We want not only to deal with 50 masterpieces of chamber literature and rejoice that 30 years of good neighborhood in Central Europe could have resulted in something as beautiful as Krzyżowa-Music, but also to deal with the impact of the current crisis on the music scene and to consider what previous states of emergency have taught us in order to survive economically as creators of art. In 2021, the rules for the second year of the pandemic differ from the first. Of course, we will obey them, but we will not shy away from anything that can arise from free music making and a friendly community.

We are very pleased to inform you that the Managing Director of the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, Robert Żurek, has been awarded a postdoctoral degree in history. The degree was conferred by a resolution of the Council of the History Discipline of the Pedagogical University in Cracow on 16.12.2020 on the basis of his scientific achievement "The Roman Catholic Church in Poland and the Western and Northern Lands 1945-1948". The habilitation diploma is dated 11 June 2021.
Robert Zurek is a graduate in history and Catholic theology from the Free University of Berlin. He received his doctorate in Halle. He was a scholarship holder at the German Historical Institute in Warsaw (2003-2005) and then a researcher and deputy director of the Center for Historical Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Berlin (2006-2012). From 2013 to 2016 he was director of the Wrocław branch of the Institute of National Remembrance.
