On Sunday, the Head of the Świdnica Municipality, Teresa Mazurek, and the Mayor of Lampertheim, Gottfried Stőrmer, visited Krzyżowa. The guests were welcomed by Dr. Robert Żurek, managing director of the Krzyżowa Foundation and Anita Kończewska, assistant of the management board.
The delegation from the German partner municipality came to Poland with material and financial support. Inhabitants and social organizations from Lampertheim prepared gifts for Ukrainian citizens affected by the armed conflict, who have been living in the Świdnica municipality for a month. In addition to the material support, Mayor Stőrmer handed over a cheque for €11,750 to Mayor Teresa Mazurek on the steps of the Krzyżowa palace. This amount is to be used by the municipality to support Ukrainian citizens.
A beautiful sunny week is behind us and we are thinking about it intensely especially today when the weather made an April Fool's joke and covered Krzyżowa with snow. But just a few days ago our younger guests from Ukraine were enjoying the beautiful weather relaxing on deckchairs, playing football and running around the neighbourhood.
We are very happy that all pupils and students are very enthusiastic about going to Polish schools. And now we can confirm with great joy that we also have a comprehensive educational offer for the youngest children.
This week we managed to complete all the procedures and from Monday, children from Ukraine will join our kindergarten, " Green Land ". All the youngest, who with their parents escaped the war to the municipality of Świdnica, will be able to stay under the care of the nursery school staff during the opening hours. Another piece of great news is that two ladies who came to us from Ukraine and now live in Krzyżowa will be employed as teaching assistants. Thanks to that, children will feel more comfortable being able to communicate in their own language.

19th East-West European Memorial Meeting Kreisau
30 March to 2 April 2022
Remember - tell - share
Eyewitnesses in memorial work
We cordially invite you to this year's East-West European Memorial Meeting from March 30 to April 2, 2022 in Krzyzova/Kreisau. We, the team of organizers, have been thinking for a long time: At first, we were unsure whether we could hold the meeting because of Corona. Now the Russian invasion of Ukraine raises further big question marks.
Despite the tense situation, we decided to hold our meeting just now. We therefore invite historians, students, staff of memorial sites, contemporary witness projects, museums, and NGOs to a pan-European exchange of experiences and ideas in Kreisau. As before, the meeting will be simultaneously interpreted into Polish, Russian, English and German.
