22 students from Poland and Germany met in Krzyżowa on 16-21 May and took part in a school exchange. As every year, youth from Kherson were also supposed to participate in the event. Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine made this meeting impossible, which is extremely sad for all of us. The absence of the Ukrainian school, a long-standing partner of the tri-national exchange, was keenly felt by all participants.

The main theme of the school exchange was 'Europe and me'. That is why the youth first learnt about the history of Krzyżowa and nearby Wrocław and then reflected on their associations connected with the word 'Europe'. Reflecting on their family histories and discussing European values was an important part of this process.

The young people also took part in workshops about stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination. As part of this workshop they planned campaigns to prevent discrimination and defend European values. The group also had to prepare and present short theatrical scenes on selected topics related to Europe (European societies, culture, places, future). Creativity of young people was appreciated by the audience which included a special guest- Mrs. Dorothee Jäckering from Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and a member of "Krzyżowa" Foundation Council.

During the exchange, participants also took part in art workshops during which they created their own bags. Traditionally, sports activities were also organized, but this time Ukrainian youth living in Krzyżowa also took part in them.
