On 24-31 July 2019 youth from Polish and German borderlands met in International Youth Meeting Centre in Krzyżowa. The youth was getting to know each other and discovered their cultures during a variety of artistic and sports activities as well as trips. The pinwhole photography and photography transfer to wood, rafting trip as well as workshops about the neighbour’s country let the participants start new friendships and overcome prejudice.
During the project trips to Wrocław, Bardo and Strzegom took place. The project was cofinanced by both PNWM and Interreg.
From 16th to 21st June, a Polish-German youth meeting with Agricolagymnasium from Hohenmölsen and Emanuel Bułhak Private School Complex from Warsaw took place in Krzyżowa. This is the ninth partnership meeting of both schools. How did it differ from the first meeting? Certainly, the emotions connected with coming to Krzyżowa are always the same, despite the fact that every year new people join the group. A constant element is also the curiosity about the new place, the willingness to meet new people and the fear of facing the topics of World War II together. However, the memories of the time spent together in Krzyżowa will surely be diverse.
This year, 38 participants and 4 teachers took part in the project.

On 5-6 June 2019, the participants of a study visit from Heinrich-Böll-Schule Rodgau and the German-Polish school exchange Zabrze-Wassenberg took part in discussions about our common future in Europe. Each participant could share their vision and ideas for Europe in a specially designed and built wooden structure. The 3.5-metre-long geodesic dome - Europe Dome was made for our participants by Anne Hardt and Helene Naira Paul from Democracy International - a non-governmental organization created by a network of democratic activists and organizations gathered around the European Citizens' Initiative. Democracy International is committed to strengthening civic participation and direct democracy within and outside the EU. Its aim is to enable citizens to participate directly in political decision-making.

The last training meeting of primary school and kindergarten teachers from Świdnica, who have been taking part in the project "Our Common World - Global Education for Children" since January, is behind us.
This time, it was the participants who played the leading role and presented to the trainers the lesson plans they had developed. The opportunity to present and jointly evaluate their ideas was the last training element in Krzyżowa. After its completion, teachers armed with knowledge, methods and materials will be able to successively diversify the activities with children in their schools, and the effectiveness of introducing new methods, participants will have the opportunity to share with us in a dozen or so days at a 1-day evaluation meeting.
The project is co-financed by the Polish development cooperation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland in 2018.
