A BarCamp is a special conference, whose programme is developed together with all participants on site. Here, everyone can get involved, present ideas around the topic “(Hi)Storytelling” and benefit from the knowledge of others.

The BarCamp offers youth workers a platform on which they can exchange information on current issues relating to educational work and network with experts. The focus is on historical and civic education, current challenges for the work due to the coronavirus crisis and political changes such as the restriction of civil liberties, the closing of borders etc. as well as the common search for alternatives to continue our work.

What can we learn from the central ideas of the Kreisau Circle regarding a positive, democratic culture of debate on the Internet?

In Kreisau the preparations for our online training „#CreatingSpace: A digital future with ethics in mind“ are in full swing! The heritage of the Kreisauer Kreis forms the historical frame around the project and the participants should have the possibility to visit the house on the hill virtually!

The project is funded by the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation and the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation in Poland.

Since February this year, the Krzyżowa Foundation has been implementing the pilot project "School of Dialogue", which consists in translating, adapting and testing educational materials of the Dutch program of the Peace School (Vreedzame School).

This program was created by the Dutch institution CED Groep and was first implemented 15 years ago in Utrecht. Today, more than 1,000 primary schools in the Netherlands are "peaceful" and the number is growing every year. This model works especially in schools at risk of peer violence, in conflicted communities, hence we assume that after adapting to Polish educational and cultural conditions, it will also work in Poland.

Actually, our Education Specialist Charlotte Lohmann would have been in Klaipedia in Lithuania last week and would have taken part in the 4th project meeting of the Erasmus+ project "Understanding Diversity Together". Well, Corona still makes travelling difficult and we can't meet in person! Instead of an analogous meeting lasting few days, the meeting took place online! We hope you are still interested in pictures from online meetings :)

In virtual space, representatives from Bulgaria, Slovenia, Lithuania, Romania, Austria, Poland, Greece and Germany discussed together module ideas on diversity-conscious topics. The aim of the project is to develop versatile teaching materials for an innovative diversity education package that can be accessed online and offline.
