Spring is always a time when there is a lot going on at Krzyżowa. Especially now, after two years of limiting our stationary activities, many projects are finally taking place in our centre. We combine our statutory activities with new tasks, which we have been carrying out since families from Ukraine settled in Krzyżowa.
It has been over 2 months since our Foundation became a temporary home for refugee women and men. We have allocated 100 places in our centre for those who seek shelter while fleeing war. These places are still occupied, and we are committed to organising help for the families staying with us - starting with providing them with a place to stay and food, and ending with support with all the administrative formalities. We try to help our guests with their everyday challenges such as finding a job or looking after their children.
Intensive Polish language training is one of the most important current projects, which aims to help Ukrainian citizens to find their place in the Polish reality and to become independent. However, we also remember how important psychological support is for people with experience of war and migration, especially children. That is why we are very happy that this week there was an important meeting with the representatives of the Świdnica District Family Support Centre, which is implementing a project on psychological support for children from Ukraine (project financed by Ernst & Young Foundation). During the meeting, our guests from Ukraine could also acquaint themselves with the offer of psychological assistance provided by the Świdnica District in the Crisis Intervention Centre in Świdnica.
A special day for all children is approaching, and this is a great opportunity for our youngest guests from Ukraine to spend time doing what gives them great joy - a trip. As the children have already got to know the animals in the Wrocław Zoo, it is now time for the creatures that no longer walk on the ground, but still make a huge impression. In the next week our group from Ukraine will go to JuraPark in Krasiejów. Emotions are already running high.
We would like to remind you that we are still recruiting for our summer Polish-Ukrainian orchestra as part of the "MUSIC FO FUTURE" project. Participants from Ukraine take part in the project free of charge, and for those who do not have their own instruments in this difficult situation, we will try to buy them.
Supporting refugees from Ukraine is a great challenge, which we manage to meet thanks to the commitment of our team and the financial support of our donors. The needs related to the organisation of such assistance are enormous. That is why we continue to ask for your support, which will allow us to continue our activities and provide help and security to families from Ukraine.
We would like to remind you that together with our partners from Germany: Kreisau-Initiative e. V. and Freya von Moltke Foundation for Krzyżowa - as well as the team of International Chamber Music Festival Krzyżowa-Music, we are collecting donations for Ukrainian refugees in Krzyżowa.
