Last week, the first cycle of workshops within the project "Good food from nearby" ended. Pupils of grade 7b of Primary School No. 6 in Świdnica during five meetings got acquainted with and reflected on topics related to food and the food system. During the workshops we talked about elements and dependencies in the food system, ending resources needed for food production and its environmental costs, pollution associated with industrial agriculture.

During the classes on the problem of food wastage there was no shortage of work in the kitchen, where dishes prepared in the spirit of zero waste were created. The group also visited and became acquainted with the organic farm Ekolomia in Stoszów. The cycle ended with the planning of a campaign which the pupils could carry out in their school. We would like to thank the pupils for their involvement and active participation!

The "Good food from nearby" project is one of six that were selected from more than 200 proposals from across Europe in the European Environmental Bureau competition as part of the "Make Europe Sustainable for All" project: https://makeeuropesustainableforall.org/get-a-grant/
