Despite the passage of time, World War II remains a very important topic. It affects people's identity and international relations. Without knowledge of it, it is difficult to understand the present and explore the topics that make up the historical heritage of Krzyzowa. However, we note that young people coming to Krzyzowa have little knowledge of the period, while differences in education and the memory culture of different countries result in one-sided interpretations and a lack of sensitivity to the memory of others, making understanding difficult. Hence the idea for an exhibition that will tell the story of World War II, especially those chapters of the war that are particularly important for understanding the historical heritage of Krzyzowa, and for historical and civic education, education for peace, understanding, human rights and concern for a common European future.
The exhibition "1939-1945: Years that Changed the World" is being built right next to the permanent exhibition "Courage and Reconciliation," on the grounds of the former garden. The exhibition scenario was developed by a team of employees of our Foundation. The architectural and graphic concept was prepared by the Warsaw studio JAZ+ Architects.
