From 29 September to 4 October we hosted 60 students from Lviv, Wroclaw and Rheinberg, who are coming to Krzyżowa for the second time in this partnership. During the five-day stay at the exchange, the youth had the opportunity not only to get to know each other better, but also to take part in active intercultural workshops and classes on global education topics (migration, sustainable development, food security). The youth worked on the symbolism of contemporary global challenges combined with art. There were created images of migrants and emotions accompanying them in the situation of migration, which were interpreted by young people. Pupils communicated in English and learned words from each other in their own languages during daily morning evaluations, combined with language animations in small groups.
Organizers:
- Amplonius - Gymnasium
- Lviv Economic Lyceum
- Private Elementary School and Language Junior High School Parnas
The program was supported by educators from the IYMC Anna Sławczewa and Agnieszka Żegańska, as well as a volunteer from the European Solidarity Corps, Julia Arhipova.
The project was supported by PNWM and the European Union within the framework of the project "Change begins with me", which we begin with the above mentioned exchange. This is the first group to have participated in the Sustainable Development Goals project, where we are working on three objectives. They have been chosen as the closest to young people who have a real chance to influence and change something, both at the level of knowledge and attitudes. These are Objective 10 - reducing inequalities, Objective 12 - ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns and Objective 13 - taking urgent action to combat climate change and its effects.
These workshops were held in cooperation with ProgettoMondo Mlal as part of the project: “Start the Change! Educational model on global active citizenship to reach the Sustainable Development Goals with a special focus on the relationship between migration and inequality”, Grant: Contract CSO-LA/2017/388-169.
