From November 6 to 11 2023, German studies students from Poland and Ukraine met with students from vocational schools in Germany at the IYMC Krzyżowa to get to know each other and exchange ideas on the topic of "Migration/Migration movements in Europe". The 43 participants traveled from Kraków (Jagiellonian University), Lviv (Ivan Franko National University) and Hannover (Alice Salomon School). The meeting took place for the second time in this trinational format. The language of the project was German in order to give the students from Kraków and Lviv the opportunity to practice their language skills. It was a very intensive week with many different workshops on the topic of "flight and migration", in which the participants actively took part with their own family migration stories, creative posters, role play, pantomime performances and discussions.
19 students from Poland from the Educational Complex No. 6 in Zielona Góra and 20 German students from the Oberschule Peitzer Land school, aged 12 to 14, met at the " Krzyżowa Foundation to take part in an intercultural school exchange.
During the workshop, the students expanded their knowledge of what stereotypes are and where they come from. Together they came to the conclusion that when we lack sufficient information on a subject, unreflective assumptions can be wrong or hurtful.
Part of the workshop consisted of a joint search for what unites as well as differentiates the two countries and finding a common link between them, which the young people did a great job with.
During a guided tour of the Krzyżowa site, the young people had the opportunity to learn about the multifaceted history of the place, and the reinforcement of the acquired knowledge was a field game.

We invite you to participate in the project "Women in Resistance - Female Stories Unheard. European Remembrance of Women in Resistance Against National Socialism".
The project includes:
Three traveling meetings of young people from Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic.
An international essay contest in which the three best literary works, written in English, will receive a cash prize.
A prize-giving ceremony in Leipzig (October 2024).
During three days of talks, workshops and group work, people participating in the Krzyżowa conference 'The future begins today...The new reality of international exchanges with the young in the lead role' tried to diagnose the challenges of the times of change and, above all, to develop solutions that would help optimise international youth meetings.
The diagnosis was helped by a workshop in which the topics of intercultural exchanges were looked at from a psychological, educational, geopolitical or technological perspective by such experts as:
