The official announcement of the results of the International Essay Competition in the framework of the project „Moja Europa Wolności / Mein Europa der Freiheit/ Moje Evropa Svobody” is behind us.


On 10 December, during an online ceremony, the international jury announced the names of the winners and runners-up, whose works proved to be the best among the more than 100 submitted competition entries:

 

1st place:

  • PL: PAWEŁ ŚWIĄTKOWSKI „NIGDY WIĘCEJ BASTYLII. LEKCJE Z UMOWY SPOŁECZNEJ 1989 ROKU”
  • DE: FILIP EMMANUEL SCHUFFERT „DIE MODERNITÄT DER VORMODERNE?”
  • CZ: VLASTA ŘENČOVÁ „EVROPA NA NOHOU”

2nd place:

  • PL: JOANNA NAJBOR „TO BYŁ WYJĄTKOWO CIEPŁY LUTY”
  • DE: JANES BEHR „MEHR GLEICHHEIT WAGEN”
  • CZ: KLÁRA PEJCHALOVÁ „UMĚNÍ SVOBODY ANEB JAK UMĚLCI OVLIVNILI REVOLUCI”

3rd place:

  • PL: PIOTR SOŁOWIJ „O TYM JAK WIELKA HISTORIA ODBIJA SIĘ W DROBNYCH OKRUCHACH CODZIENNOŚCI CZYLI RZECZ O HERBIE”
  • DE: TATJANA SCHMALZ „DIE HYPOTHEK DER VERGANGENHEIT”
  • CZ: DOMINIK VOJTA ZA ESEJ PT. „JAK DVOUTAKTNÍ MOTOR ODHALIL TO LEPŠÍ V NÁS”

In addition, the following were honoured:

  • DE Ales Janousek za esej pt. „Die Geschichtsschreibung ist der Realität hinterher!?“

 

  • CZ: Klara Peskova  za esej pt. „Jednim Slovem”
  • CZ: Lukas Kopp za esej „Nepoucitelni”
  • CZ: Viktorie Fischerovą za esej „Moje Europa Svobody“

Congratulations to all!

The ceremony, which took place online due to the pandemic situation, was attended by 53 people, including the winners, representatives of the project organisations, the international jury and representatives of the competition sponsors. The winners were congratulated by the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, and the Consul General of Germany in Wrocław, Hans Jörg Neumann, who was unable to attend in person and prepared a short video for the occasion.

The winning entries will be published in a trilingual printed edition of the essays, and on the project website:

The project is funded by the European Union under the Europe for Citizens programme in partnership with Bildungswerk Sachsen der Deutschen Gesellschaft e. V. and the National Assembly of German Associations in the Czech Republic.
