This year, for the first time the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe joined the coalition of NGOs active in the project Jochanneum Novum, funded by the Municipality of Wrocław.
Our task in this project was to carry out trainings for teachers of Wrocław primary and secondary schools on anti-discrimination education tool "Stories that move". The coordinator of these activities was Liubov Shynder - specialist of educational projects of International Youth Meeting Place in Krzyżowa.
While dealing with the topic of discrimination among young people, it is important not only to focus on proven methods and practices, but also to support teachers in recognising discrimination and bullying in the classroom and to give them the opportunity to share their concerns about this topic. Therefore, in addition to training, we also provided individual and group consultations.
We hope that next year our activities in the Johanneum Novum project will be even more intensive and that we will manage to invite schools from Wroclaw to Krzyżowa.
Johanneum Novum is a coalition of organisations working in the field of education against violence motivated by prejudice, including bullying and cyberbulling, and supporting intercultural dialogue.
