Krzyżowa every July for 10 days turns into a musical and dance Andalusia, both for adepts of this art from all over Poland and some European countries, which participate in the Festival. Krzyżowa is also changing for all those who visit the beautiful thresholds of the International Conference Centre, sit in the audience and admire the performance of flamenco during the final concert.
My Festival wouldn't have been possible if I hadn't found wonderful, open and professional people from the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, whose ideas of dialogue, respect and kindness I've experienced at every stage of organization.
I have been teaching in Flamenco schools for over 15 years. I love this work, I love to share my passion, I constantly appreciate the intimacy of the process of learning together, where everyone opens up and through dance expresses what they do not dare to express in a word. Such courses give regularity, but when the lesson is over, everyone rushes to their own business.
I wanted to create a place and conditions where participants would not only be able to submerge themselves in the knowledge about Flamenco and learn from morning to night, but also where time would stand for a while. At the Festival there is a place for deeper relations, for every question, for the exchange of experiences, for the integration of the flamenco community from all over the country, for living and spending time together with each other and with artists from Spain.
I also appreciate the fact that the Festival co-exists with the Guitar Festival. Guitar is the main instrument of flamenco, and thanks to the fact that its sounds can be heard throughout the Festival, and in the evenings there are concerts of phenomenal guitar artists from all over the world, it is an opportunity not only to feed the soul, but also to educate in the field of this instrument.
Over the last 12 years I invited to Krzyżowa the best flamenco artists from Spain, winners of many awards, creators of their own performances, artists who are constantly invited to the most prestigious festivals in Spain. The Krzyzowa street was visited by dancers: Concha Jareno, Pilar Ogalla, La Choni, Florencia O’ryan Zuniga, Federico Ordonez i śpiewacy: Cristian Delgado i Esteban Murillo.
This year we will be learning under the guidance of Patricia Guerrero, an extremely talented dancer of the young generation, who may be known to a wider audience from Carlos Saura's film "Flamenco, flamenco". One of the best guitarists in Poland, Andrzej Lewocki, will accompany and conduct drum classes on the cajon. During the second part of the Festival I invite you to take part in numerous classes: rhythm, step and technique, as well as choreography in three styles: bulerias, alegrias and solea por buleria, and manton service - flamenco scarf.
I warmly invite you!
