We are very pleased to announce that the project called "A good start for preschoolers from the Municipality of Świdnica" (project number FEDS.08.01-IZ.00-0070/23) has received financial support from the European Union under the European Social Fund Plus and the European Funds for Lower Silesia 2021-2027 program (Priority 8. European Funds for education in Lower Silesia, Measure 8.1. Access to education).

The project is carried out in partnership between the Krzyzowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe and the Municipality of Świdnica, the bodies that run the kindergartens supported by the project. These are four kindergartens:

- Non-public Kindergarten "Green Land" in Krzyżowa;- Kindergarten "Fairytale Valley" in Pszenno;

- Kindergarten in Witoszow Dolny;

- Kindergarten in Bystrzyca Dolna.

Preschool teachers and girls and boys aged 3 to 6 from the above-mentioned kindergartens will participate in the project. The participation of children with disabilities is also planned.

Project objectives:

1) to provide 420 children aged 3 to 6 from rural areas with equal access to good quality early childhood education, including inclusive education, based on modern forms, methods and technologies, and to develop the key competencies of social-emotional skills and future skills referred to in the Integrated Skills Strategy 2030,

2) Strengthening the qualifications and skills of the teaching staff of kindergartens, particularly in the areas of inclusive education, green and digital competencies, so that institutions can adapt their educational offer to the demand of the labor market, changing economic, social and demographic trends and environmental challenges.

 

Tasks to be carried out under the project:

  1. Activities to develop key and social-emotional skills in the kindergarten and outside the kindergarten (in educational centers, museums, during sightseeing trips),
  2. Activities to support children's mental health - support for students with special education needs, creation of calming corners, adaptations for children with special needs,
  3. activities in the field of environmental education, forming green competencies and competencies of the future, including local actions for the environment,
  4. activities for building and strengthening STEM/STEAM skills among preschoolers, using the STREAM method,
  5. purchase of equipment and/or retrofitting of kindergartens with teaching aids,
  6. courses, postgraduate studies and other forms of support to develop professional and social skills of teaching staff.

 

Project results:

  1. preparation of 420 children to start school, strengthening of their key competencies and social skills, which will consequently contribute to equalization of educational differences of children from rural areas,
  2. development of professional skills of 38 female teachers of supported kindergartens,
  3. dissemination of the importance of the role of kindergarten in the development of the child and building a civil society and knowledge-based economy.

 

Total project cost: PLN 2,080,722.00

Amount of European Funds contribution: PLN 1,637,081.00
