Krzyżowa-Music

From August to September 2024, a special event will take place in Krzyżowa, bringing together world-renowned musicians of our time along with a select group of young artists from the classical music scene across Europe. As part of the anniversary program of Krzyżowa-Music, the "College of Seniors" – including Jacques Ammon, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Viviane Hagner, Midori, Nils Mönckemeyer, Matthias Kirschnereit, and Eckard Runge – will collaborate with talented "Juniors." This unique gathering in Krzyżowa will create an unparalleled atmosphere where musicians will explore chamber music works together and prepare the program for the summer concerts of Krzyżowa-Music.

The Krzyżowa-Music workshops and concerts in Lower Silesia will take place from August 29 to September 8, 2024. At the end, a selected group of musicians will embark on an autumn concert tour across Poland and Germany, sharing their passion and talent with an even broader audience.

Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, awarded Viviane Hagner, artistic director and co-initiator of Krzyżowa-Music, the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany "Bundesverdienstkreuz" for exceptional achievements in the field of cultural exchange between Germany and Poland.
Ms. Maren Schellenberg, mayor of Berlin's Steglitz-Zehlendorf district, presented the order on February 15, 2024, at the Mendelssohn-Remise in Berlin.
Our warmest congratulations, Viviane!

This year we are hosting 50 musicians from all over the world. During the two-week workshop in Krzyżowa, they will create, play, talk and share their musical experience together.
