As a part of celebrating the 10th anniversary of the existence of the district governing body of the Świdnica District, Mayor Zygmunt Worsa presented the Świdnicki Dictrict Award, a statuette of the District Eagle, to the Krzyżowa for European Understanding Foundation.

The award was presented to the inhabitants who contributed to the greatest development of the district, among others to the Bishop of Świdnica – Ignacy Dec, the Mayor of the Bergstrasse District - Matthias Willkes and the head of the Bergstrasse District governing body - Werner Breitwieser, to the president of Świdnica and the mayor of the first term - Wojciech Murdzek, the rector of the parish of Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession – Waldemar Pytel, Roman Grygianiec for organizing the Elmot Race for many years, Marcin Konarski for organizing the WKKW competition and the managers of Elektrolux and Galess.

In his speech the mayor expressed his gratitude for everybody’s contribution to developing the district, for setting strategic objectives of further development and for accomplishing first tasks regardless of individual political views. Zygmunt Worsa and the head of the Świdnica District governing body, Tadeusz Zawadzki, both emphasized the point that 10th anniversary of the existence of the district is an important reason for further development of self-governance.
