Silesian Cultural Award was created in 1977 as way of supporting the process of reconciliation and agreement between Poland and Germany.
Its aim is to enhance development and care of Silesian cultural heritage and support the Silesian people in the process of creation. The award has become a well recognized part of the Polish-German relations and will always help to strengthen them.
