From 25.02 - 26.02 the 2nd meeting of the Erasmus+ project "Understanding Diversity Together" took place in Maribor, Slovenia. The Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, which is a partner of the project, was represented by Charlotte Lohmann, a specialist on educational projects of the IYMC Krzyżowa.
In the Slovenian city, representatives* from Bulgaria, Slovenia, Lithuania, Romania, Austria, Poland, Greece and Germany discussed together modular ideas on diversity-conscious topics. The aim of the project is to develop versatile teaching materials for an innovative diversity education package that can be accessed online and offline.

Societal changes, such as inter-European and international migration and globalisation, affect educational systems and offer both new opportunities and challenges for schools and other educational institutions. In order to cope with such societal changes, teachers need to demonstrate strong social skills and understand class communities in order to promote diversity and understanding within a classroom community, in addition to teaching knowledge.

Therefore, a European team of experts* has been formed to discuss teaching modules and methodological proposals to promote critical and differentiated perspectives on identity and diversity. The aim of the project is to develop an innovative diversity education package that meets the needs of the European educational landscape for anti-discriminatory teaching materials online and offline.
