From November 11th to 16th 2024, long-standing guests came to Krzyżowa again: German linguistic students from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the Ivan Franko University in Lviv as well as pupils from the Hannah Arendt vocational schools in Hannover. The traditional theme of the meeting was “Migration - Migration movements in Europe” and the participants learned, discussed and exchanged in small international groups during the workshops about their own family migration stories, the migration history of the von Moltke family and the regional migration history of Lower Silesia after 1945, as well as the current situation in the participants' countries, Germany, Poland and Ukraine.

Special this time was that the 35th anniversary of the 1989 Reconciliation Mass took place in the same week - so the young people also prepared to take part in the working tables at the anniversary conference on Friday (15.11.) in order to contribute their perspectives on German-Polish relations. At the same time, Friday was also a meeting highlight, as 10 senior citizens from the Intercultural Café Świdnica came to Krzyżowa for an exchange with the young people. Very moving conversations took place in mixed small groups, with the Polish and Ukrainian participants taking on an important role as translators for the others and translating the conversations into German.

Of course, the week also included a joint excursion to Wrocław, with a visit to the historical center Zajezdnia, as well as international evenings spent together. In the end, many valuable impressions were taken home with them.
