From October 12 to 16, 2023r. Polish-German school exchange Cottbus - Opole took place.
20 students from Poland from PSP No. 7 in Opole and 18 students from Germany from the Schmellwitzer Oberschule school, aged 12 to 14, met at the Krzyżowa Foundation to take part in an intercultural school exchange for the first time.
The young people had the opportunity to get to know each other, as well as the culture and languages of their countries. They worked together on the topics of digital education and art education. They also touched on topics related to ecology and environmental protection.
The main goal of the exchange was to reduce stereotypes, and the proposed games built an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual respect.
The students expanded their awareness of food by learning about meals characteristic of a particular region of the world and exploring similarities and differences with their country of origin.
Part of the workshop was also devoted to environmental education, and the proposed exercises took place in the Foundation's permaculture garden. Students stimulated their senses when observing insects with magnifying glasses, created an autumn mandala and sowed catch crops in the beds.
Young people had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Krzyżowa Foundation through a field game.
The exchange was led by Anna Kudarewska together with Joanna Chorąży and Nikolai Wittschork (EKS volunteer).
The exchange was subsidized by the Polish-German Youth Cooperation.
