Grzegorz Stawarz
Graduate of the Faculty of German Philology at the Wrocław University, which he completed in 1995 with a Master's degree. He started his professional career as a teacher of German at the Tony Halik Hotel and Tourism School Complex in Świdnica, where he worked until 2007, including the last 3 years as Deputy Director. Since 1 September 2007 he has worked at the Department of Education and Upbringing of the District Starosty in Świdnica, and since 3 December 2018, he has taken up the position of director of that department. Since 1997 he has also been a sworn translator of German.
His first meeting with Krzyżowa took place on the day of the famous Reconciliation Mass attended by Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki and Chancellor Helmut Kohl. On that cold and foggy day, he arrived with his father and grandfather in Krzyżowa to witness this event. In order to be able to see better, he climbed onto the outer sill of a window in the palace and followed the meeting from there. He can remember that he was very surprised when he found himself in one of the pictures presented in Krzyżowa. The fascination with this place accompanies to this today.
