"We believe that facts, courage and goodness are stronger than rumours, fear and hatred. Every voice in the discussion improves its atmosphere. Not to mention the many positive voices!". With this statement by Ichbinhier e. V., we certainly agree!
Last week, on 10 December 2020, a German-Polish multiplier seminar on civic courage on the Internet was held online.
The live online simulation was aimed at those involved in (international) youth work, who often asked themselves how they can support (young) people in their efforts to live together peacefully and democratically - online and offline. During the three-hour online seminar, participants learned more about the phenomenon of hatred on the web, about the concept of the passive user and discussed how a constructive and cultural discussion in social media can look like.
During the practical workshop, participants took on different roles and reflected on strategies and tactics for dealing with hate speech on the Internet. At the end of the workshop, participants from Poland and Germany analysed their experiences and determined what solutions can be useful for them in youth work.
The project was organised by Kreisau-Initiative e. V., Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe" and association Ichbinhier e.V.
