On the 8th of December in Krzyżowa a training "Creating Space: A Digital Future with Ethics in Mind" started. It was addressed to trainers, teachers, educators and educators from Poland, Germany and Ukraine.
The main goal of the training was to gain adequate knowledge about teaching methods that will help young people oppose the hate speech on the Internet. Participants learned about ways to strengthen young people's self-awareness, methods encouraging self-reflection, promoting empathy and dealing with diversity. The workshops also provided space for the exchange of knowledge and experiences. Based on the Barcamp method, sessions were conducted by the participants themselves.
The idea
Hate-Speech threatens democracy and current developments on the Internet show that political education and media literacy can no longer be separated. We believe that there is a clear need for action to expand media skills to include digital media ethics competence because current information and education addressing media are no longer enough for taking responsible action in the digital society.
