From 8th to 13th of October 2022 31 pupils from the Hohenstaufen-Gymnasium Kaiserlautern and the Lyceum Nr. 9 from Leszno met in Krzyżowa for a week of exchange. At the beginning stood integration and language animation games to get to know each other and a tour through Krzyżowa to learn about the history of the place. Since the Ukrainian school from Odessa unfortunately was not able to come, a joint video conference was part of the program to get an insight into the current situation in Odessa.

Highlights of the week for the participants were the excursions to Groß-Rosen, Wrocław and Świdnica. In workshops, they prepared and evaluated the visit to the former Concentration Camp and explored the exhibition „Courage and Reconciliation“ to discover connections between the historical events and today‘s (everyday) situations. The group spent the evenings with parties in the castle basement or at the campfire.
