On 25-29 April, Polish-German school exchange Tczew - Padeborn took place in Krzyżowa. The main theme of this youth meeting was diversity as well as historical issues.
Group of young people took part in integrating and artistic activities as well as workshops letting them get to know better history of Krzyżowa and this region during the Second World War. Participants visited Gross-Rosen Museum in Rogoźnica.
Activities connected with shaping a diverse and sustainable future were an important part of the exchange programme. The young people felt a real impact on their surroundings by actively participating in workshops organised in the ecological garden which was created on the Foundation's grounds.
Pupils from schools in Tczew and Padeborn have also shown great sensitivity to the current situation in Ukraine. Knowing that in Krzyżowa there are families fleeing the war, they decided to help those in need. After consulting with us, young people from Poland and Germany brought their peers a number of balls which were very much needed during sports activities with children from Ukraine. The balls not only found their way into the hands of their colleagues, but were also used in practice. During the exchange two Polish-German-Ukrainian matches took place, which fostered new relationships.
