A workshop on sustainable food is over! Franek, Jagna and Natasza from Montessori Private Elementary School under the supervision of our educators conducted 10 meetings for their peers from the school. They became guides to the:

  • the food system,
  • the resources needed to produce food,
  • the subject of food wastage
  • and ways to counteract it.


The speakers encouraged colleagues to actively work for fair and good food. The group cooked together with the leftovers at the zero-food kitchen workshop in Krzyżowa and visited the organic farm Ekolomia in Stoszów.

On November 17-21, representatives of Jordan, Israel, Palestine, France, Germany and Poland participated in a member's network meeting of the Anna Lindh Foundation in Berlin. The "Krzyżowa" Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe was represented by Anna Dankowska, the coordinator of the European Academy's projects.

The meeting "Strengthening cross-border methods of cooperation in civil society" enabled a lively discussion, exchange of experiences and learning about various initiatives in the field of international cooperation and support for civil society, including IMPACT.

On 25-26 November we hosted in Krzyżowa representatives of Rotary Clubs from Poland and Germany.

Our guests visited the House on the Hill, where they learned about the history of the Foundation and listened to a lecture by Dominik Kretschmann - the head of the Memorial Site, about the Kreisau Circle. Dr. Robert Żurek, Managing Director of the Krzyżowa Foundation, and Anna Kudarewska, Program Director and Head of the IYMC in Krzyżowa, talked about the activities of the Foundation and the work of the International Youth Meeting Center.

The visit also included the opening of the "Music of Forms" sculpture exhibition by Stanisław Wysocki. The guests also listened to a concert by a young, very talented violinist - Milena Pioruńska.

Symposium "Do it! How to create eco-sustainable education places?" (4-5.11) brought together people who want to green the places of their educational work and implement the values they teach.

From the Besucherzentrum für Natur- und Umwelterziehung "Drei Eichen" we have learned how to be a mother of inventions - especially in the middle of the forest educational centre. The Aeris Futuro Foundation introduced us to the green standards of events introduced in Poland and the IBZ-Internationales Begegegnungszentrum St. Marienthal told us about the certification process of the meeting house. During the workshop, Ania Dańkowska presented the efforts for greater ecological sustainability in the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe.
