We wake up to life! Meeting with seniors - 27.04.2021

The slogan "We wake up to life" accompanied us during the meeting with seniors on 27 April 2021 as part of the project "Food - with tradition into modernity". With spring, we had hope for a return to normalcy after more than a year of the pandemic freeze. We went out into the field, trying to capture the emerging NEW in the frame. This walk did us good. And now we are just waiting for the changes in nature to translate into our daily functioning as well.

We are glad that we can present you a publication that is so important to us. A year after the death of Dr. Ewa Unger - co-founder of the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe and the long-term chairman of the Foundation's Management Board, we are presenting you with an album that shows the life of a person who rendered great service to Polish-German reconciliation. The author of the publication is Dr. Annemarie Franke - for many years associated with the Krzyżowa Foundation, currently a member of the Foundation's Supervisory Board.

On 26th April 2021, a meeting with Rafał Dutkiewicz, former mayor of Wrocław, was held and it subject was: "1990. The beginning of self-governing Poland from the perspective of Wrocław ”.

231 students and teachers participated in the meeting.

It was the fifth in a series of meetings organized by the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, the purpose of which is to present the circumstances of the historic breakthrough that led to the collapse of the communist system and the beginning of democratic changes in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

||REPORT|| Lithuania's re-establishment of independence. Challenges the country faced - 20.04.2021 [audio]

On 20 April, Dr Inga Vindhdnaitė, a political scientist from Vilnius University, gave a lecture entitled "Lithuania's re-establishment of independence. Challenges the country faced".

It was the fourth of a series of lectures organised by the Krzyżowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe, which aim at explaining the circumstances of the historical breakthrough which led to the collapse of the communist system and the beginning of democratic changes in Central and Eastern Europe.
