We are pleased to inform that the Tadeusz Szymanski Prize for the year 2011 has been awarded to the "Krzyżowa" Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe. This way the board of evangelical initiative "Zeichen der Hoffnung- Signs of Hope e.V.” has honoured our project “We, the children of Europe”.

The Tadeusz Szymański (former prisoner of the concentration camps in Oswiecim, Groß-Rosen and Buchenwald) Prize is awarded to people who are under the age of 21 and are engaged in a reconciliation and understanding between Germans and Poles. The Prize is awarded every year by the evangelical initiative for the better future of Poles and Germans "Zeichen der Hoffnung- Signs of Hope e.V.” during assembly of its members in Frankfurt am Main.


Rewarded project “We, the children of Europe” is an interdisciplinary enterprise founded on variety of artistic and pedagogic methods, which is oriented for children from Poland and neighbouring countries. Its aim is to appeal to the intellect as well as to the imagination and sensitivity of children and youths of different nationalities. The main elements of the project- social and cultural diversity and art- lead to this goal. “We, the children of Europe” refers also to the issues of the European Community.
