The Contracting Parties are convinced that getting to know each other and understanding each other of the young generations is of fundamental importance for giving a lasting character to the agreement and reconciliation of the Polish and German nations. Therefore, they attach particular importance to the widest possible contacts and close cooperation of Polish and German youth. The Polish–German Treaty of Good Neighbourship and Friendly Cooperation, art. 30.

We invite you to a meeting with Elisabeth Seidler and Wojciech Mazowiecki. Their fathers: Manfred Seidler, spokesman of the Polish Commission of the Bensberg Circle, and Tadeusz Mazowiecki, Poland's first democratic prime minister, belonged to the generation that, having experienced the drama of World War II, initiated the process of Polish-German reconciliation. Our guests were direct witnesses of this. With them, we want to look at reconciliation and the history of the treaty through the prism of their specific experiences and consider what path we had to go through in order to make friendly and fruitful contacts between our peoples possible. There will also be a contemporary perspective on the Polish-German youth exchange - during the meeting, students from Pszenno and Lampertheim will present the current partnership cooperation between their schools.
